The UK government has announced major changes to the Graduate Route Visa, effective from 1 January 2027. The duration of the Graduate Visa will be reducedfrom 2 years to 18 months for applications submitted on or after this date. However, students applying before 1 January 2027 will not be affected. PhD and doctoral
graduates will continue to receive 3 years of post-study work permission.
